Prayer to our Most Benevolent God
Most Benevolent God of infinite charity you so loved mankind, that you gave to us in your Son, the best proof of your love, so that made man in the womb of a Virgin, He would be born in a manger for our well-being and reparation.
In the name of all us mortals, I give infinite thanks to you for such a supreme blessing. In return, I offer you the poverty, humility and other virtues of your Son made man, beseeching you that through his divine merits, through the discomforts in which he was born, and through the tender tears which he shed in the manger, you fill our hearts with profound humility, with burning love, with such a scorn for all that is worldly, that the newborn Jesus find in us his cradle and abide in it for ever.
